ICAT Textielrestauratie provides its clients with removal services and the rehanging of tapestries and wall coverings after restoration/preservation. These are often delicate operations because the carpets and wall coverings are fragile and are often large in size. We can also package the objects for you for transportation and organise the transport to and from the studio for you too.
When we come to rehang a tapestry or wall covering, we can provide the walls with a molton and/or a Tyvek membrane to provide the tapestry or wall covering with improved protection from dust and moisture.
We have a lot of experience with this kind of operation that we have executed in many castles, museums and town halls.
In addition, we offer the service of storing restored /preserved objects in our depository during building work or while they wait for treatment.
We can also temporarily cover tapestries and wall coverings in situ to protect them from becoming soiled by building dust.
